The average tyre breakdowns use to be 11 tyre breakdowns per month. This totally changed to one tyre breakdown in four months. The result is almost unbelievable and as a result we saved in the vicinity of R200000 just on tyre breakdowns…
To date we have not incurred more than 1.5 hours downtime over a period of 12 768 hours due to tyre issues. We will be replacing some of the existing tyres due to normal wear and tear. All previous pressure problems have been solved. The cost on the fuel saving due to correct pressure and the extended tyre life is also not yet part of the equation.
